Thomas Fargues

 

Fargues, Thomas (1780-1847), physician, was born at Quebec in 17°80. He was educated at Harvard College (B.A., 1797), and at the University of Edinburgh (M.D., 1811). After spending some years in London, he returned to practise medicine in Quebec about 1811; and he occupied an outstanding position in his profession in Canada for the next generation. He died in Quebec on December 11, 1847. In 1831 he was made an honorary M.D. of Harvard University.
