Born New York City, Aug. 10, 1887, son of George and Edna (Newell) Bell, New York . Educated: Staten Island Academy; Lehigh University (B.A.). Journalist, New York Even­ing Sun, New York, 1908-1911. Came to Montreal, 1911. With present Company since that date. Contributor financial and economic articles to various financial magazines in Canada and the United States. Served in France with American Expeditionary Force as First Lieutenant, 351st Field Artillery. Ap­pointed Captain, Nov. 10, 1918. Married Marguerite Wainwright, daughter of the late Wm. Wainwright, Montreal , Aug. 19, 1914, has one son, Melville G. Bell. Clubs: University; Montreal Racquet; Montreal Hunt; Royal Montreal Golf; Royal St. Lawrence Yacht; Bankers' Club of New York . Society: Sigma Phi ( Lehigh University ). Recreations: Sailing, motoring, squash racquets. Anglican. Residence: 355 Mountain Street, Montreal.
