EWING, Colonel Royal Lindsay Hamilton, D.S.O., M.C., A.D.C. - Real Estate and Insurance Broker, Ewing & Ewing, 263 St. James Street, Montreal. Born Montreal, Nov. 12, 1878, son of Andrew Stuart Ewing & Sarah Bailey Leathern. Educated: Montreal High and Tuckers Schools. President, Canadian Club of Montreal, 1910-11; President, Montreal Real Estate Board, 1923. During the Great War served overseas in France with the 42nd Battalion, Royal Highlanders of Canada, 1915-19; started as Lieutenant, succeeded to the Command of the 42nd Battn. with Rank of Lieut.-Colonel, August, 1918; awarded D.S.O. and Bar, Military Cross, and Légion D'Honneur; mentioned in Despatches twice; now Colonel, Commanding Royal Highlanders of Canada; Hon. A.D.C. to His Excellency the Governor-General. Clubs: Mount Royal; St: James's; Montreal; Montreal Hunt; Royal Montreal Golf; Mount Bruno Country; Racket Club; Royal St. Lawrence Yacht; Montreal Indoor Tennis; Mount Royal Tennis; Mattawin Fishing Club; M.A.A.A.; Montreal Art Assoc.; Arts Club; Royal Colonial Institute; Hon. President, Park Toboggan Club. Presbyterian. Residence: 731 Sherbrooke Street W., Montreal.
