Michael Francis Fallon


Fallon, Michael Francis (1867-1931), Roman Catholic bishop of London, was born at Kingston, Ontario, in 1867, the son of Dominick Fallon. He was educated at Ottawa College and at the Gregorian University in Rome, and was ordained a priest in 1894. He was first professor of English on the staff of Ottawa University, then a parish priest in Buffalo, New York, and in 1910 he was created bishop of London. As bishop he took an active part in the discussion of public questions, as the champion of the Irish element in the Roman Catholic Church. He died at London, Ontario, on February 22, 1931.
