Louis Panet


Panet, Louis (1794-1884), senator of Canada, was born at Quebec on March 19, 1794, the third son of the Hon. Jean Antoine Panet. He was admitted to practice as a notary public in Lower Canada in 1819. In 1852 he was appointed a member of the Legislative Council of Canada, in 1867 of the Legislative Council of Quebec, and in 1871 of the Senate of Canada. He resigned from the Senate, on account of ill health; in 1874; and he died at Quebec on May 15, 1884. In 1820 he married Marie Louise, daughter of Dr. Frederic W.
