Rev. John Chisholm

 

Clergyman; Superintendent of Immigration, Montreal. Born Pictou, N.S., 1852, son of Hugh and Catherine (Munro) Chisholm. Educated: Pictou Academy; Kingston Collegiate Institute; Queen's University (B.A.). Under appointment of the Presbyterian Assembly, explored British Columbia, located churches and formed congregations, 1884-1890; promoter and founder of the Protestant Directorate of Female Immigration, and British Immigration and Colonization Association, with its headquarters, 31 Drummond Street, Montreal. Married Elizabeth, daughter of Neil MacKinnon, 1885; has three sons and two daughters. Conservative. Presbyterian. Residence: 190 Bishop Street Montreal.
