Howard Bird

 

General Manager, Canadian Pneumatic Tool Co., Ltd., Manufacturers of Pneumatic Tools, and Canadian Factory of Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co., 25 St. Antoine Street, Montreal. Born Bethlehem, Conn., April 24, 1888, son of Clinton Harrison Bird and Augusta (Haugh) Bird. Educated: Public Schools, New Haven, Conn.; Yale University (Electrical Engineering Course). With General Electric Co., Schenectady, N.Y., 1910-19; with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co., Chicago, 1919-20. Came to Montreal, 1920, to become General Manager of the Canadian Pneumatic Tool Co., Ltd. Served on Mexican Border as 1st Lieut. with National Guard of New York, 1916; commanded Machine Gun Company, 105th Infantry, 27th Division, U.S.A.; commissioned Captain, Aug. 13, 1918 , in France . Married Dorothy Potter, daughter of W. B. Potter, Chief Railway Engineer of the General Electric Co., Oct. 2, 1915 ; has two sons. Clubs: Engineers' ( Montreal ); Mount Royal Tennis Club; Yale ( New York ). Recreations: Tennis, squash, skiing. Protestant. Residence: 145 Northcliffe Ave., Montreal.
