Henry Watson Powell
Powell, Henry Watson (1733-1814), soldier, was born in England in 1733, and entered the British army. He came to Canada in 1776 in command of the 53rd Foot, became a brigadier-general, and was successively in command at Ticonderoga, Montreal, Niagara, and Quebec He returned to England at the close of the American Revolutionary War, and in 1801 became ageneral.
