Guy Johnson

 

Johnson, Guy (1740-1788, loyalist, was born in county Meath, Ireland, in 1740, the nephew of Sir William Johnson, Bart. In 1774 he succeeded his uncle as superintendent of Indian affairs for New York ; but in 1775 he fled to Montreal, and thence he sailed for England. In 1776 he was in New York ; and in 1778 he took part in the raids on the Mohawk valley. He died in London, England, on March 5, 1788. He married his first cousin, Mary, daughter of Sir William Johnson, Bart.
