Frederick William Ermatinger

 

Ermatinger, Frederick William (d. 1816), sheriff and postmaster of Montreal, was the son of Lawrence Ermatinger, who settled in Canada soon after the conquest. His mother was a relative of Sir Hildebrand Oakes, Bart. In 1810 he was appointed sheriff and postmaster of Montreal, in succession to his uncle by marriage, Edward William Gray; and he died in Montreal in 1816. See F. J.
