Empire Club of Canada


Empire Club of Canada, a luncheon club formed in Toronto, Ontario, on November 18, 1903, as a protest against the nationalism of the Canadian Clubs after the Alaskan boundary award. Its motto was "The advancement of the interests of Canada and a United Empire". It holds luncheons at which prominent visitors and others speak; and it has published since 1904 an annual volume of Empire Club speeches.
