Born Toronto, Ont., Jan. 9, 1892, son of William Clarke and Mary Maguire, Toronto. Educated: Public Schools; Collegiate Institute; Loyola College . After leaving school, commenced in the business of the family, The Gulf Pulp & Paper Co.; organized The Clarke Steamship Co., and The Clarke Trading Co., and became President of same. Married Aline Paradis, daughter of the late V. E. Paradis, Quebec , June 21, 1916; has two sons. Clubs: Garrison ( Quebec ); Quebec Golf; Royal Montreal Golf; Victoria Curling. Roman Catholic. Residence: 72 d'Artigny, Quebec, Que.
