Chateau Clique
Château Clique, the name popularly applied to the governing class of Lower Canada under the Constitutional Act of 1791. It was the counterpart of the Family Compact in Upper Canada, and was composed of the English official element in the province, together with those of the French-Canadian upper or seigniorial class who threw in their lot with them.
