BERNARD WILLIAM PALIN COGHLIN

 

President, B. J. Coghlin Co., Ltd., manufacturers of Railway Supplies,. 2050 Ontario St. E., Darling and Davidson Streets, Montreal . Born Montreal , Feb. 10, 1874, son of Bernard James and Lucy Alice (Palin) Coghlin. Educated: Public Schools, Montreal. Entered father's office as Clerk, and worked through various stages of the business, learning it in every detail, being made a partner in 1905. On the death of father, re-organized the business under a Dominion Charter (1910), being elected President and General Manager. Life Governor, Montreal General Hospital; Director, Montreal Technical School; Member, Executive Committee, Canadian Manufacturers' Assoc.; Chairman, Educational Committee; Vice-Chairman, Committee of Montreal Branch, Canadian Manufacturers' Assoc.; Member, Montreal Board of Trade. Married Louise Jean Dawes, youngest daughter of J. P. Dawes, Lachine, Que., Oct. 28, 1903 ; has two daughters. Clubs: St. James's; Montreal; Royal Montreal Golf; Kanawaki Golf; Montreal Curling; Montreal Jockey; Winter; Automobile; M.A.A.A.; Manitou; Art Assoc. and Royal Colonial Institute; Director, Old Colony Club. Recreations: Golf, motoring. Conservative. Presbyterian. Residence: 810 Sherbrooke Street W., Montreal.
