Charles Holden Allen

 

Assistant to Managing Director, National Surety Co., 120 St. James Street, Montreal. Born St. John, N.B., Aug. 28, 1880, son of T. Carleton Allen and Louise (Wetmore) Allen. Educated: Davenport School; University of New Brunswick. Read law with Winslow & Allen, Fredericton, N.B.; called to the Bar of New Brunswick, 1904; Manitoba, 1911; practised law in Fredericton, N.B., until 1909. With the C.P.R. Legal Dept. at Winnipeg, 1909-1911; Branch Manager of the Guarantee Company of North America at Winnipeg, 1912-1917; came to the Head Office of the Guarantee Co. of North America, 1917; resigned Jan., 1921, to become Assistant to the General Manager of the Canadian Export Paper Co.; appointed Manager of Sutro Bros. & Co., January, 1922; with present firm since Oct. 1, 1922. Married Alice Elizabeth Fortune, daughter of the late Mark Fortune, Winnipeg , June 8, 1912 ; has one daughter. Clubs: St. James's; Beaconsfield Golf. Recreations: Golf. Anglican. Residence: Montreal .
