Vaudreuil

 

Vaudreuil, a county in Quebec, fronting on the Ottawa river and the river St. Lawrence, west of Montreal. It is bounded on the west by the province of Ontario, and on the south by Soulanges county; and it is traversed by the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railways. Population 13,170 [in 1948].

 

Vaudreuil, a village in Vaudreuil county, Quebec, on the right bank of the Ottawa river, and on the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways, 30 miles west of Montreal. It is the centre of a general farming and market-gardening district, and is also a summer resort. It was incorporated in 1850, but the church was built in 1787.
