Kenneth Dowie

 

Dowie, Kenneth (1798?-1866), merchant, was born about 1798, the youngest son of Capt. James bowie, R.N., and Margaret Mackenzie, the younger sister of Sir Alexander Mackenzie. He emigrated to Canada, and became ultimately a partner of the Hon. Peter McGill. He returned to England about 1825, and began business in Liverpool as a commission merchant. He died at 5 Southhill Road, Liverpool, on March 3, 1866, in his 69th year.
