Hon. Peter Boyle De Blaquière

 

De Blaquière, the Hon. Peter Boyle (1784-1860), legislative councillor of Canada, was born in Ireland on April 27, 1784, the younger son of an Irish peer. He came to Canada in 1837, and in 1839 he was appointed a member of the Legislative Council of Upper Canada. He was re-appointed to the Legislative Council of United Canada in 1841. From 1850 to 1852 he was chancellor of the University of Toronto. He died at Yorkville, near Toronto, on October 23, 1860.
