Faithful Companions of Jesus

Faithful Companions of Jesus, a religious order founded in 1820 by Marie Bengy, a young French lady of illustrious family. The Society spread first in France, and then into Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Australia, and Canada, where the sisters landed in 1882 to answer the call of Bishop Taché, O.M.I., who established them in St. Lawrence, Manitoba, and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. At present the Congregation is located in Calgary, Edmonton, and Lethbridge, Alberta. The sisters take charge of any school work, Sunday schools, sodalities, and instruction of adult women.
