Andrew Hunter Dunn

 

Dunn, Andrew Hunter (1839-1914), Anglican bishop of Quebec (1892-1914), was born at Saffron Walden, Essex, England, on October 16, 1839. He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge (B.A., 1863; M.A., 1866; D.D., 1893), was ordained a priest of the Church of England in ,1865, and was vicar of All Saints', South Acton, Middlesex, from 1872 to 1892. In 1892 he was elected fifth bishop of Quebec, and he continued in charge of this diocese until 1914. He died at sea on November 14, 1914. In 1866 he married Alice, daughter of William Hunter, of Croydon, Surrey, England ; and by her he had five sons and two daughters. He was a D.C.L. of Bishop's College, Lennoxville (1907). See P.
