Fort Lawrence

 

Fort Lawrence , a British military fort built in 1751-2 by Lieut.-Colonel Charles Lawrence near the mouth of the Missaguash river in the Chignecto isthmus, in Acadia. After the capture of Fort Beauséjour, and its transformation into Fort Cumberland, Fort Lawrence was abandoned and dismantled in 1756. See J. C.
