French Canadians and Jews

Denial of A Rumour

L’Ordre, June 19, 1934

Le Devoir published yesterday the following bit of news:

"Last Saturday, a doctor from the hospital gave a car ride to the interne Rabinovitch and went to confer with leaders of the Montreal Jewish community. Faced with their demands - it appears that the Jewish interne wants a bursary to study in Europe as compensation for his cancelled contract - the meeting ended without agreement".

The leaders of Notre-Dame hospital assure us that this rumour is completely unfounded. Dr. Rabinovitch’s brother, we have been told, is a doctor with a large French Canadian clientele. He employs three French Canadian nurses.
