Placide Gaudet

 

Gaudet, Placide (1850-1930), genealogist, was born at Dupuis Corner, near Shediac, New Brunswick, on November 19, 1850, the son of Placide P. Gaudet and Marie Vienneau. For twenty-five years he was on the staff of the Public Archives of Canada at Ottawa; and he died at Shediac, New Brunswick, on November 9, 1930. He was the author of Généalogies des familles acadiennes, printed in the Public Archives Report for 1905, Le grand dérangement (Montreal, 1922), and many articles on genealogical and historical subjects.
