Louis Labrèche Viger

Viger, Louis Labrèche (d. 1871), journalist and politician, was born at Terrebonne, Lower Canada, and was educated at the College of Montreal. He was adopted by the Hon. Denis Benjamin Viger, and on the death of Viger added the name of Viger to his own patronymic of Labrèche. He was successively a priest, a journalist, a lawyer, a merchant, a politician, and a company promoter. Prom 1861 to 1867 he represented Terrebonne in the Legislative Assembly of Canada; but he took almost no part in the debates. He died at Montreal on April 27, 1871.
