Edmond Boisvert de Nevers

Nevers, Edmond Boisvert de (1862-1906), author and journalist, was born at La Baie-du-Febvre, Lower Canada, in 1862. He was educated at the seminary of Nicolet, and in 1888 he went to Europe. Here he studied for a time under the historian Mommsen at Berlin. He travelled extensively in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal ; and he finally settled down in Paris as a journalist in connection with the Havas agency. He was the author of L'avenir du peuple canadien français (Paris, 1896), and L'âme américaine (2 vols., Paris,1900).
