Dolbeau

Dolbeau, a town in Lac-St.-Jean county, Quebec, is on the west bank of the Mistassini river, about 15 miles from the north-west extremity of lake St. John. It is named after Father Jean Dolbeau, Récollet missionary, who served among the Montagnais Indians during the French régime; and it was incorporated as a town in 1927. It owes its rise to the building there of a large pulp and paper mill; but it has also the advantage of lying at the gateway of a good agricultural district. It is a terminus of the Canadian National Railways.
