Charny , a village in Lévis county, Quebec, on the Chaudière river, and a division point on the Quebec Central and Canadian National Railways, 7 miles south-west of Lévis. It is named after Jean de Lauzon, Sieur de Charny, third seignior of Lauzon, who was killed by the Iroquois in 1661. It was created a parish in 1903, and a village in 1924.
