Arthur Bernard Calder

 

Special Representative, Department of Colonization and Development, Canadian Pacific Railway, with headquarters at Montreal . Born London, Ont., 1868, son of Alexander and Rebecca A. (Williams) Calder. Educated: Bishop's College, St. Boniface, Man.; Manitoba College, Winnipeg, Man. Engaged in construction work until 1887; in Ticket Office, Winnipeg, 1887-89; with Canadian Pacific Railways at Tacoma, Wash., and San Francisco, Cal., and their General Agent at Seattle, Wash., and Chicago, Ill., 1889-1911; active Manager, Alex. Calder & Son, General Steamship Tourist Agents and Foreign Banking, at Winnipeg, 1911-17; Asst. General Passenger Agent, C.P.R., at Montreal - assigned to Passenger business originating in the United States, 1917, to Feb. 1, 1921; Special assignment, August to November, 1919, as representing the President of the C.P.R., on His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales' tour of Canada. Represented the President of the C.P.R. on Imperial Press Conference tour of Canada , 1920. Married Lola Hewitt, daughter of the late Johnson C. Hewitt and Nellie Hewitt, of Tacoma, Wash., 1895. Club: Westerners' Club (President). Address: Place Viger Hotel, Montreal.
