Spirit of the Beothuk by Gerald Squires
This sculpture by Gerald Squires was sponsored by the Beothuk Institute. It symbolizes the pride, the resilience and the courage of the Beothuks. The sculpture is found in the woods, near the sea, at the Boyd's Cove site, near Twillingate, Newfoundland. Boyd's Cove was one of the most important Beothuk site in Newfoundland in the early historical period. Archaeologists have been able to learn much about the Beothuk way of life from this site.
