COLONEL JOHN THOMAS CLARKE, C.B.E., M.D.

 

CLARKE, Colonel John Thomas, C.B.E., M.D., C.M. - Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, Quebec . Born Hastings County , Ontario , Feb. 27, 1870, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Bennett) Clarke. Educated: Belleville High School; Albert College , Belleville; Trinity, Toronto; McGill University, Montreal. Served in the Great War in France, Belgium, Siberia and Russia. Twice mentioned in Despatches ( London Gazette , 7-8-17, and 13-3-18); awarded Commander of British Empire ( London Gazette , 14-1-20); Croix de Guerre, Czecho-Slovakia ( London Gazette , 29-6-23). Married Jessie Jamieson Malcolm, Sept. 9, 1903 . Has two sons and two daughters. Recreations: Golf, tennis and badminton. Clubs: Garrison ( Quebec ); Quebec Golf; Quebec Garrison Tennis; Quebec Garrison Badminton; Kincardine Country Club. Society: A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite. Anglican. Address: Military Headquarters, Quebec City.
