John Galt

 

Galt, John (1856-1933), merchant and financier, was born in Montreal in 1856, the son of Sir A. T. Galt. He was educated at the Montreal High School ; and in 1882, he went to Winnipeg, where he became a wholesale grocer. For several years he was president of the Union Bank of Canada. He died at Victoria, British Columbia, on April 8, 1933.
