Fort Île-aux-Noix

Fort Ile-aux-Noix, a French fort on Isle aux Noix in the Richelieu river, 12 miles below the outlet of lake Champlain. It was built by Bourlamaque in the early part of 1759, after the capture by the British of Ticonderoga and Crown Point ; and was surrendered to the British on August 25, [1760]. See Fort Lennox.
