Fort Chimo

 

Fort Chimo, a Hudson's Bay Company post on the Koksoak river, 25 miles above its outlet in Ungava bay. It was built in 1830, abandoned for lack of trade in 1842, re-opened in 1866, and is still [in 1948] in operation.
