Edward Charles Barry Fetherstonhaugh

 

President of Greenshields, Limited, successors to S. Greenshields, Son & Co., established 1834, Wholesale Dry Goods, 17 Victoria Sq., Montreal. Born Guelph, Ont., Feb. 21, 1852, son of George and Susan Fidelia (Burke) Fetherstonhaugh, both of Guelph. Educated: Guelph Grammar School. Member, Advisory Committee, New York Reciprocal Underwriters. Came to Province of Quebec, Jan. 12, 1870; began as junior Clerk, M. Shewan, Guelph, 1866; Junior, Gore Bank, Guelph, 1868; Junior, Bank of Toronto, 1869; in office, Sutherland, Hardie & Fleming, Montreal, 1870-75; in office, S. Greenshields, Son & Co., Montreal, 1876-91; Partner, S. Greenshields, Son & Co., 1891-1903; Director, Greenshields, Ltd., since 1903; President, 1917. Member, Board of Trade. Married Janet Cross Phillips, daughter of Dr. George H. Phillips, Prescott, Ont., Aug. 2, 1876; has three sons and four daughters. Residence: 775 Sherbrooke Street W., Montreal.
