Statement by Louis-Philippe Belisle and Ladislas-M. Emard Following the End of the Strike
Le Devoir, Tuesday June 19, 1934

[Note from the editor: Belisle was one of the leaders of the strike at Notre-Dame Hospital; Emard was Chief of the internes]

The doctors and the nurses of the hospital generously devoted themselves, and redoubled their efforts, to ensure that the patients at the hospital received the same services that they would have received should the internes have remained at their post. They had to work many hours of over time, but even if they had had to work twenty four hours a day, they would not have neglected the care of the sick. Thus, the internes wish to thank the doctors and the nurses for the services rendered.
