Secretary, Canadian Pacific Railway Co., Montreal. Born Yorkshire, England, Dec. 8th, 1862, son of Andrew and Harriet Newell ( Hayward ) Alexander. Educated: Public Schools and Collegiate Institute, Hamilto. Came to Quebec, March, 1893. Clerk, Grand Trunk Railway, Hamilton, Ont., 1882-1892; Private Secretary to Sir Wm. Van Horne, President, Canadian Pacific Railway, Montreal, 1893-1899; in office of Lord Shaughnessy, President, Canadian Pacific Railway, Montreal, 1899-1908; Asst. Treasurer, C. P. Ry., Montreal, 1908-1912; Asst. Secretary, C.P.R., Montreal, 1912-1916; Secretary, C.P.R., Montreal, since Jan. 1st, 1917. Married Jessie Edgar, daughter of William Edgar, June 12th, 1889 (deceased June 29th, 1915 ) ; has one son. Clubs: St. James'; Arts; Montreal Curling; Royal Montreal Golf; Kanawaki Golf. Recreations: Golf, curling. Protestant. Residence: 656 Grosvenor Ave., Westmount, Que.
