William Henry Delaney

DELANEY, William Henry, M.D., D.P.H., Physician and Surgeon. Quebec, Que. Born Quebec, Nov. 19, 1874, son of John and Catharine (O'Rourke) Delaney. Educated: Laval University (M.D.); McGill University (D.P.H.). A Student at leading hospitals, London, England, New York and Paris, 1904-08; took a course in Clinical Pathology, Cornell University Medical College, 1906. Appointed Director, Laboratory of Clinical Pathology, Jeffrey Hale Hospital, 1910; followed a course of Hygiene and Public Health, McGill University, 1910 (Diploma Public Health); Staff Officer to Administrative Medical Office, No. 5 Divisional Area, since May 1, 1911; Asst. Director, Medical Service, 5th Division since Oct. 1, 1914. Asst. Secretary, Quebec Anti-Tuberculosis League; member, Executive Committee, Que. Anti-Tuberculosis League. Joined Militia as Bugler, 1889; Lieut., 23rd Battn., 1897; transferred to Army Medical Corps, upon its organization, 1900; promoted Captain, 1902; now holds rank of Colonel; Vice-President, Assoc. of Military Surgeons, Ottawa, Feb., 1912; appointed by Canadian Government as Delegate representing the Canadian Militia Medical Service, International Anti-Tuberculosis Congress, Rome, Apr., 1912. Served overseas with Canadian Expeditionary Forces in England and France from 1915 to 1919. Married Ursula Lawrence, Nov. 1915; has one son and one daughter. Clubs: Garrison; University ( Montreal ). Societies: K. of C.; Royal Sanitary Institute ( England ). Conservative. Roman Catholic. Residence: 30 Des Jardins, Quebec, Que.
