Vinton

 

Vinton, a village in Pontiac county, Quebec, on the Canadian Pacific Railway, 4 miles from Campbell's Bay, and 193 miles from Montreal. It was founded in 1856 by a group of Irish settlers, and was named after a village in Iowa, in the United States , from which some of the settlers came. It is in a general farming, dairying, and lumbering district.
