Thomas Aston Coffin
Coffin, Thomas Aston (1754-1810), loyalist, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 31, 1754, and was educated at Harvard University (B.A., 1772): At the end of the American revolution he was private secretary to Sir Guy Carleton; and during the tatter's second governorship of Canada, from 1786 to 1794, he was civil secretary and comptroller of accounts in bower Canada.
