Sir Edward Seaborne Clouston
Clouston, Sir Edward Seaborne, Bart. (1849-1912), banker, was the son of James Stewart Clouston, a chief factor of the Hudson's Bay Company, and Margaret, eldest daughter of Robert S. Miles, of the Hudson's Bay Company, and was born at Moose Factory, Hudson bay, on May 9, 1849. He was educated at the Montreal High School, and after one year in the service of the Hudson's Bay Company, joined the staff of the Bank of Montreal as a clerk in 1865. In 1887 he was appointed assistant general manager of the bank, in 1890 general manager, and in 1906 first vice-president. In 1908 he was created a baronet. He died at Montreal on November 23, 1912. In 1878 he married Annie, youngest daughter of George Easton of Brockville, Ontario ; by her he had one daughter. Source : W.
