Samuel Gale
Gale, Samuel (1747-1826), loyalist, was born in England in 1747, and came to America in 1770 as a paymaster in the British army. He emigrated to Canada during the American revolution, and he eventually became secretary to General Prescott. He died at Farnham, Lower Canada, on June 27, 1826. He was the author of An essay on the nature and principles of public credit (London, 1784), as well as a Second essay (London, 1785), a Third essay (London, 1786), and a Fourth essay ( London, 1786).
