Robert Alexander Fyfe
Fyfe, Robert Alexander (1816-878), principal of the Canadian Literary Institute, Woodstock, Ontario (1860-78), was born at St. André, near Montreal, Lower Canada, in 1816, of Scottish parentage. He was educated at Madison University, New York, and at the Newton Theological Seminary, near Boston, where he graduated in 1842. He was ordained a minister of the Baptist Church, and was the pastor of several churches in Canada and in the United States. In 1860 he became principal of the newly-organized Baptist college at Woodstock, Ontario, and he retained this position until his death at Woodstock on September 4, 1878.
