Nicolet County

 

Nicolet, a county in Quebec, bounded on the north by the river St. Lawrence, on the east by Lotbinière county, on the south by Arthabaska county, and on the west by Yamaska county. It is named after the Nicolet river, which waters it. The Canadian National Railway crosses it. Chief town, Bécancour. Population 30,085 [in 1948]. See Abbé J. E.
