Louis Hippolite Taché

Taché, Louis Hyppolite (1859-1927), author, was born at St. Hyacinthe , Quebec , on August 30, 1859, the son of Antoine-Louis-Jean-Étienne Taché and Marie-Charlotte Beaudet. He was called to the Quebec bar in 1883, and for several years was private secretary to Sir J. A. Chapleau. He died at Montreal on May 22, 1927. He was the author of La poésie française au Canada (St. Hyacinthe, 1881), A legal hand-book and law-list for the Dominion of Canada (Toronto, 1888), and the Montreal citizen's directory (Montreal, 1893); and he edited the Nouvelles soirées canadiennes (Quebec and Ottawa, 1882-8), and Men of the day (Ottawa and Montreal, 1890-94).
