Louis Coderre

 

Coderre, Louis (1865-1935), secretary of state for Canada (1912-15), was born at St. Ours, Quebec, on November 1, 1865. He was educated at Laval University (LL.B., 1892), and was called to the bar in 1892. In 1911 he was elected to represent Hochelaga in the Canadian House of Commons; and in 1912 he became secretary of state in the Borden government. He retired from office in 1915 to accept appointment as a judge of the Superior Court of Quebec. He died at Montreal on January 29, 1935.
