Born Lachine, Que., Nov. 2, 1887, son of James P. Dawes and Gertrude S. Brock. Educated: Montreal High School ; St. Albans School ; McGill University ; United States Brewers' Academy, New York. Commenced in business in 1908; appointed Manager, Dawes Brewery, Lachine, 1913; appointed Manager of the Montreal plant, in addition to the Lachine, 1916. Married Stelle M. Lash, daughter of Mortimer Lash, St. John's, Nfld.; has one son and two daughters.
