Louis Georges Desjardins
Desjardins, Louis Georges (18491928), civil servant and author, was born at St. Jean Port Joli, Quebec, on May 12, 1849, and was educated at I,évis College. From 1881 to 1890 he represented Montmorency in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec; and from 1890 to 1892 he represented L'Islet in the House of Commons. He was then appointed clerk of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec; and he died at Montreal on June 8, 1928. He was the author of Précis historique du 17e Bataillon d'Infanterie de Lévis (Lévis, 1872), M. Laurier devant l'histoire (Quebec, 1877), Considérations sur l'annexion (Quebec, 1891), Decisions of the speakers of the House of Commons of Canada (Quebec, 1901), Decisions of the speakers of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec (Quebec, 1902), and England, Canada, and the Great War (Quebec, 1918), the last three being published also in French.
