J. E. Fontaine, M.D., M.P.

 

FONTAINE, Joseph Eloi, B.A., M.D., N.P. Physician. Born Beloeil, Que., Sept. 14, 1865, son of Charles Fontaine and Rose Jeannotte Fontaine, both French-Canadians. Educated: Marieville, Que. Alderman, 1904-08, and Mayor, 1909-10, of the City of Hull; Chairman, Hull Board of Trade, 1917-18; Chairman of the Medical Board of the Hull Hospital since 1920. Elected by acclamation as Liberal member, for the County of Hull, to the House of Commons, at general elections, 1917; re-elected by a majority of 10,000 at general elections, 1921. [reelected in 1925 and 1926; died June 11, 1930] Roman, Catholic. Address: 192 Main Street, Hull, Que.
