Joseph René Kimber
Kimber, Joseph René (1786-1843), physician and politician, was born at Quebec on November 26, 1786, the eldest son of René Kimber and MarieJosephte Robitaille. He was admitted to practice as a physician in 1811; and he played a prominent part in Lower Canadian politics before the rebellion of 1837. He represented Three Rivers in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada from 1832 to 1838, and was one of Papineau's lieutenants. In the Legislative Assembly of United Canada he represented Champlain from 1841 to 1843; and he was appointed to the Legislative Council only a few days before his death at Three Rivers on September 22, 1843.
