Joseph Narcisse Dupuis
President, Dupuis Frères, Ltée., Dept. Store, 447 St. Catherine St. E., Montreal. Director, Grand Trunk Railway System, Portland Elevator Co., New England Elevator Co., and many philanthropic and charitable institutions. Born St. Jacques l'Achigan, Co. Montcalm, April 24, 1859, son of Joseph Dupuis and Euphrasie Richard. Educated: Masson College, Terrebonne; completed commercial studies at the evening courses of the Plateau Commercial Academy of Montreal. After leaving school in 1873 started with firm of J. N. Dupuis; in 1873 title of firm changed to Dupuis Frères; 1876, made partner; in 1881, bought out remaining partner, and in 1897, the business was turned into a limited company. Member, Board of Trade and Chambre de Commerce. Married Albertine Francoeur (deceased), Sept. 26, 1882 ; secondly, Muriel Cecil Barry, July 25, 1917 ; has one son and seven daughters. Clubs: Montreal ; Canada ; Laval-sur-le-Lac; Nationale; Canadien; Chapleau; Catholic of New York. Societies: K. of C., Lafontaine Council. Recreations: Golf, billiards. Conservative. Roman Catholic. Residence: 1275 St. Viateur Street W., Outremont, Que.
